VVS refers to the clarity level of diamonds, representing the extremely light and micro inclusion level. Under a 10x magnifying glass, there are extremely fine flaws inside the diamond that are difficult for even a professional appraiser to see. Under the vvs level, it is divided into vvs1 and vvs2 levels.
What are the clarity levels of diamonds
According to the Gia standard, diamond clarity can be divided into 11 levels, ranging from FL (flawless level) to I (inclusion level).
Flawless Level (FL): FL is the most perfect level of diamond clarity, and when viewed under a 10x magnifying glass, this type of diamond has no inclusions or surface flaws, making it extremely rare.
Interior Flawless (IF): IF grade diamonds have no inclusions inside, but there are some minor flaws on the surface that can be removed by polishing.
Very mild inclusion level (VVS): VVS levels are divided into two levels: VVS1 and VVS2. This type of diamond has tiny flaws inside that can be seen under a 10x magnifying glass, but they are extremely subtle and difficult to detect.
Slight inclusion level (VS): VS level is divided into two levels: VS1 and VS2. VS level diamonds have visible flaws under a 10x magnifying glass, but they are very small.
Micro inclusion level (SI): SI level is divided into two levels, SI1 and SI2. These types of diamonds can be observed under a 10x magnifying glass and have clear visible flaws.
Inclusion level (I): This type of diamond has obvious flaws that are clearly visible under a 10x magnifying glass and can also be seen with the naked eye. It is generally not recommended to choose this type of diamond.
