Premarital medical examination refers to the routine physical examination and genital examination of both men and women before marriage (that is, before obtaining a license). Although China is not mandatory to do pre-marital examination, but pre-marital examination for both men and women is of great significance, so it is advocated to do pre-marital examination before obtaining a license.
The full name of pre-marital examination is "pre-marital physical examination", literally understood, refers to the physical examination of both men and women before obtaining a license, mainly including two parts: asking for a medical history and physical examination.
According to China's relevant laws and regulations, if the two parties suffer from a medical condition that is not marriageable, the legal level is not allowed to marry. So the pre-marriage examination must be before the license is more meaningful.
Before 2003, the state stipulated that both men and women must have a pre-marital examination before marriage, and the results of the pre-marital examination are necessary materials for marriage registration. After 2003, the state cancelled compulsory pre-marriage examination, the results of pre-marriage examination are no longer used as the necessary materials for registration of marriage, but the pre-marriage examination can check the physiological diseases that do not meet the marriage of both men and women, which is of great significance to both men and women. Therefore, the national level advocates that it is best to have a pre-marriage examination before marriage.
