You can still obtain a certificate without undergoing a premarital medical examination. Since October 1, 2003, China has abolished mandatory premarital medical examinations. Both men and women can voluntarily choose whether to undergo premarital medical examinations, as long as they meet the requirements for marriage. Even if they do not undergo premarital medical examinations, it does not affect the issuance of certificates. However, premarital medical examination is beneficial to the health of both parties and the next generation. Based on a responsible attitude towards the family, it is recommended to undergo premarital medical examination.
Conditions for obtaining a marriage certificate
