According to the requirements of relevant laws and regulations of China, both parties to the marriage registration need to hold their respective household registration books, identity cards, and signed statements that they have no spouse and no direct blood relatives and collateral blood relatives within three generations with the other party, and go to the registered place of one party for marriage registration.
Marriage registration process
1. Bring your documents to the Civil Affairs Bureau
Both men and women registered for marriage shall, with their respective ID cards, household registration books, and signed statements stating that they have no spouse and that they have no immediate blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations of the other party, jointly submit an application for marriage to the marriage registration office of the district or county Civil affairs bureau where one party has a permanent household registration. Divorce also need to carry divorce certification materials, collective account to carry permanent population registration card or household registration certificate.
2. Accepted by the Civil Affairs Bureau
After preliminary examination, the staff of the marriage registration office considers that both parties basically meet the conditions for marriage registration, and requires both parties to fill in the application for marriage registration and the declaration of marriage of non-close relatives.
3. Information review
The staff of the marriage registration authority shall examine whether the valid certificates and registration applications submitted by the parties are true, complete, valid and in accordance with the relevant provisions.
4. Registration and certification
Upon examination and verification of the identities of both parties and meeting the conditions for marriage registration, the personnel of the marriage registration authority shall fill in the "Marriage Registration Examination and Processing Form" and issue marriage registration certificates to both parties to the marriage registration respectively.
