Residents applying for marriage registration shall provide:

Third, the marriage certificate processing process
1. Apply
Both men and women shall apply for marriage registration to the registration office together with their household registration certificates, resident identity cards, and signed statements that they have no spouse and no immediate blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations with the other party.
2. Review
The registration authority shall examine the marriage application of both parties and, when necessary, may require the parties to provide relevant supporting materials or conduct necessary investigations.

After examination, the marriage registration authority shall confirm that it is correct and grant registration and issue a marriage certificate.
