Panchen Lama cannot get married. Panchen Lama is a type of monk belonging to the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Although there are differences between Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism, they both practice precepts and adhere to the principle of "taking precepts as teachers", placing great emphasis on precepts. Tibetan Buddhist monks are also required to abide by Buddhist precepts and are not allowed to marry.
What does Panchen mean
One of the leaders of Xizang's Yellow Sect, the abbot Hou Zang. Tibetan Buddhism believes that living Buddhas are eternal and unchanging, having undergone continuous reincarnations to live in the human world. Therefore, when the previous living Buddha passed away, it was necessary to rely on various "omens" and "inspirations" to determine the location and position of the reincarnation of the living Buddha, and then send people to search for the "reincarnated spirit child" who was believed to be the incarnation of the living Buddha along a certain direction.
After the fourth Dalai Lama died down after fighting for power, Tibetan Pak Khan, the leader of Xizang's local forces, refused to reincarnate the Dalai Lama. At that time, representative figure of the Later Tibetan region, Lobsang Qujijianzan, was responsible for searching for and teaching the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. Later, Lobsang Qujijianzan cured the Tibetan Khan's disease and convinced the authorities to search for a reincarnated child, which led to the birth of the fifth Dalai Lama.
