The name DINK comes from a combination of the first letters D, I, N, and K of the English word Double Income No Kids, which is sometimes written as Double Income and No Kid (Kids). The Chinese interpretation refers to those who have the ability to have children and choose not to have children, or they may passively choose not to have children due to subjective or objective reasons. Dink couples are also divided into pure Dink couples, "same-sex love" couples and childless couples.
1. Pure Dink couple
A pure Dink couple is a couple who are of the opposite sex, have normal fertility, but are very certain that they want to live a so-called dink (double income, no children) lifestyle.
These couples understand the energy and cost of raising children. They want to avoid the cost of raising children and prefer to pursue their own personal development. The average pure Dink couple believes that in their small family, the emotional bond between husband and wife is the most important. As for children, it is not necessary for them.
2. "Same-sex" couples
"Same-sex" couples are a relatively new type of Dink, but they are also an important part of the Dink couple. "Gay" couples tend to be Dink couples because they are less likely to have children, and because men earn more on average than women, "gay" couples in which both men are male have more disposable income than pure Dink couples.
3. Childless couples
Although this group is sometimes overlooked, or not considered to be a Dink couple. But because many couples cannot have children for various reasons, when they find that the risk and cost of trying to have children or adopt children is too high, they naturally become the Dink couple.
