How to choose a diamond ring how to distinguish the grade

HOME > Knowledge

The diamond ring should be selected and distinguished according to the 4C standard of the diamond. The 4C standard of diamond is diamond-related data, that is, the carat, clarity, color and cut of the diamond. Carat is the type of diamond, the greater the number of carats, the greater the weight of the diamond; Clarity is the internal and external characteristics of diamonds, Fl is the highest clarity, P3 is the lowest; Color is the color of diamonds, colorless diamonds are the best; Cutting is the best of 3EX.

Diamond 4C standard

1. Carat

The diamond weight is calculated in carats (CT). 1 carat =0.2 grams =100 points, 1 point =10 percent, the greater the amount of carat is the greater the weight of the diamond, its quality will be relatively better.

2. Clarity

A grading of the internal and external features of a diamond under a 10x magnifying glass.

Diamond clarity grading from high to low: FL, IF, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1, SI2, P1, P2, P3

3. Color

What we usually say is common is the diamond color of the Cape series, that is, the colorless - light yellow series, from the colorless D grade to the yellow Z grade. Colorless is the best, and the darker the tone, the worse the quality.

In the color classification of colorless diamonds, the top color is D color, D-G is a colorless level, G-J is a nearly colorless level, from K down the diamond will gradually turn yellow, basically no collection significance.

4. Cut

The quality of the cutting directly affects the brightness and fire color of the diamond, that is, the problem of whether the diamond is bright or not.

Diamonds are graded from highest to lowest: Excellent -EX, Very Good -VG, Good -G, Fair -F, and Poor -P
