Diamond fluorescence level N is the best. According to international standards, the fluorescence of diamonds can be classified into N-grade, F-grade, M-grade, S-grade, and VS grade. Among them, diamonds with no fluorescence and strong fluorescence are more expensive. N-grade diamonds have no fluorescence and are the weakest, while VS grade diamonds have the strongest fluorescence. The stronger the fluorescence response, the lighter the color.
Diamond fluorescence level
No fluorescence: Diamonds do not react under ultraviolet radiation.
Faint weak fluorescence: Diamonds can see weak fluorescence under ultraviolet radiation, but cannot distinguish color.
Medium fluorescence, Strong strong fluorescence, Very Strong very strong fluorescence: Under ultraviolet irradiation, diamonds have obvious visible fluorescence and colors can be distinguished (such as blue fluorescence, yellow fluorescence, etc.).
Is it better for diamonds to have fluorescence or no fluorescence
Diamonds without fluorescence are better than those with fluorescence. The fluorescence of diamonds refers to the light emitted by diamonds under the excitation of ultraviolet light, which cannot be seen under normal light, but diamonds with strong fluorescence under sunlight still have a hazy feeling. Although fluorescence has little effect on the diamond itself, it still affects the price of the diamond itself. The stronger the fluorescence, the greater the impact on the diamond. The transparency of the diamond itself will be weakened, the color clarity will not be pure enough, and there may even be a feeling of white mist.
Generally, most diamonds on the market have weak fluorescence, and diamonds without fluorescence are very rare. In China's "Diamond Grading" standard, the fluorescence intensity of diamonds is divided into four levels: strong, medium, weak, and none. Generally, wearing it in daily life with slight or moderate fluorescence does not affect it, so it can be considered. However, if choosing to collect it, it is still better to choose non fluorescent ones as much as possible.
