If the marriage registration file is not at the marriage registration office, the parties need to check and print the marriage registration certificate at the archives of each district and county, and then bring their household registration books, ID cards, and three 2-inch marriage registration photos to the original marriage registration office to apply for a new marriage certificate.
Precautions for reissuing marriage certificate
1. It is not necessary for both parties to apply for a new marriage certificate, but the applicant needs to bring the documents of both parties to apply for it.
2. Applying for a new marriage certificate is the same as obtaining a marriage certificate, and it must be done during the working hours of the Civil Affairs Bureau. It is not allowed to apply for a new marriage certificate on holidays and weekends.
3. The marriage registration photo must be a bareheaded group photo taken within the past six months. If the time of reissuing the marriage certificate is more than six months after the original marriage registration photo was taken, a new photo must be submitted.
