Most of the documents required for obtaining a marriage certificate for remarriage are the same as those for first marriage. Remarried couples need to bring their ID card, household registration book, proof of marital status, divorce certificate, and three photos of the couple (which can be taken on-site) to the Marriage Registration Office of the Civil Affairs Bureau to apply for a marriage certificate
1、 What documents are required for remarriage and obtaining a marriage certificate
1. Original household registration books and ID cards of both parties
A temporary ID card is also acceptable. For collective household registration, bring your own household registration card and the adDRESS page of the household head on the homepage.
2. Three recent two inch bareheaded photos of the two of them
The requirement is a recent two inch bareheaded group photo, which cannot be a composite photo or any other photo. It is required to be a ID photo.
3. Proof of marital status
Because our country is a monogamous system and does not support consanguineous marriage, this certificate is essential, but it does not need to be carried by oneself and can be obtained and filled out at the Civil Affairs Bureau.
4. Divorce certificate
This is an additional document that remarried individuals need to bring to prove their current single status. If there is currently no divorce certificate, a legally binding divorce judgment issued by the court is required.
2、 The process of obtaining a marriage certificate for remarriage
The process of obtaining a marriage certificate for remarriage is completely the same as for first marriage.
1. Both the man and the woman who are required to register their marriage must present the necessary documents and jointly apply to the marriage registration authority of the district or county-level civil affairs bureau (or town people) where one party has a permanent household registration.
2. Both parties shall personally apply to the marriage registration authority and fill out a "Declaration of Application for Marriage Registration".
3. Both parties must personally sign in the "declarant" column of the "Application for Marriage Registration Declaration" in front of the marriage registrar.
4. The marriage registration authority reviews the documents and statements submitted by both parties, and if they meet the conditions for marriage registration, they are allowed to register and issue a marriage certificate.
