1、 Documents required for remarriage
1. Both parties' ID cards and household registration books;
2. Proof of marital status issued by the unit, neighborhood (village) committee, or political institution above the regimental level of the military;
3. A signed statement stating that both parties have no direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations;
4. Divorce certificate or divorce judgment;
5. Foreign citizens need to hold their own passports, Alien Residence Permit and other relevant documents.
2、 The procedures required for remarriage
1. Apply
Both parties of the remarriage shall apply together with the required documents to the marriage registration authority of the district or county-level civil affairs bureau (or town government) where one party has a permanent household registration.
2. Fill out the declaration form
After submitting the application, each party shall fill out a "Declaration of Application for Resumption of Marriage Registration".
3. Audit registration
The marriage registration authority reviews the documents and statements submitted by both parties, and if they meet the conditions for remarriage registration, they are allowed to register.
4. Marriage Registration Certificate
After completing the procedures for remarriage registration, the original divorce certificate or court judgment shall be revoked and a remarriage registration certificate shall be issued, and the marriage between the two parties shall have legal effect.
3、 The difference between a remarriage certificate and a marriage certificate
There is actually no difference between a remarriage certificate and a marriage certificate. Conjugation refers to the voluntary restoration of the marital relationship between a divorced man and woman, who go to the marriage registration office to complete the registration procedures and re-establish the marital relationship. The issued document is still a marriage certificate, but the date on the document is the date of the remarriage, and the two words' remarriage 'will not be written on the remarriage certificate.
