What is the mark of a real diamond ring

HOME > Knowledge

A diamond ring is divided into two parts: a diamond and a ring holder. The diamond logo of a real diamond ring will have corresponding codes and certificates for inquiry, and the ring holder will have material markings.

1. Diamond symbol

Many GIA certified diamonds are marked with a laser code on the waist edge of the diamond, which corresponds to the certificate number of the GIA certificate. Each diamond only corresponds to one certificate code, which is also strong evidence for identifying the authenticity of diamonds.

However, this laser code only exists on diamonds between 30 minutes and 1 carat. If you want to engrave laser codes on GIA diamonds of one carat or more, a separate fee is required.

Generally, real diamonds come with relevant testing certificates, such as international GIA certificates or national certification certificates, which include detailed information about the diamond ring, brand name, material, weight of the main diamond in the diamond jewelry, material of the ring holder, and specific parameter grades of the diamond.

Diamond certificates generally come in the following types: international certificates GIA/HRD/AGS/IGI/EGL, and domestic certificates NGGC/NGTC/NGTC.

2. The symbol of the ring holder

At the inner ring of a ring, there will first be the brand or logo of the diamond ring, followed by the material of the ring. Nowadays, the material of the diamond ring is mainly platinum and 18k gold. Platinum is marked as Pt900 or Pt950, and 18k gold is marked as 18k, AU750, etc. In addition, some ring holders will also be engraved with the carat of the diamond in ct units.
