A diamond ring worth 100 points is 1 carat. Carat and fen are both units of weight for diamonds, with 100 fen=1 carat. "Carat" is used to represent diamonds of 1 carat or more, while "fen" is used to represent diamonds of 1 carat or less. The diameter of a one carat standard round diamond is 6.5mm, the height is 3.9mm, equivalent to the size of a soybean, and the weight is about 0.2 grams.
How to choose a one carat diamond ring
1. Color
The larger the diamond, the more color it appears. Therefore, diamonds of 1 carat or more have high color requirements, and it is best to choose grades D, E, and F. If the budget is limited, you can also choose grades G and H, preferably not lower than H.
2. Clarity
Under a 10x magnifying glass, diamond clarity can be divided into five major levels: IF, VVS, VS, SI, and I. Among them, IF, VVS, and VS levels cannot be observed by the naked eye for defects, while SI and I levels will have more obvious defects. Therefore, it is recommended to choose diamond rings with SI1 level or above.
3. Cutting off
Diamond cutting directly affects the quality of the fire color, so it is recommended to choose 3EX level, which is the highest level of diamond cutting. If the budget is insufficient, at least VG should be chosen.
4. Fluorescence
Non fluorescent diamonds are the best, but if fluorescent diamonds are acceptable, they can also be relaxed to "weak fluorescence, medium fluorescence" at a lower price.
