The marriage registration date on the marriage certificate remains the same as the original date when applying for a new marriage certificate. Process of reissuing marriage certificate
If the marriage certificate is lost or severely damaged, the parties may apply for a replacement at the original marriage registration office.
If the original marriage registration office has opened an online service system, the reissuer can book a suitable reissuance time online in advance to avoid the peak period of certificate issuance. If the online service system is not activated, you can directly handle it on-site.
If the appointment is successful, you should bring your household registration book (registered residence certificate is required for collective household registration), ID card, and three recent two inch half length bareheaded group photos to the original marriage registration office to reissue the marriage certificate according to the appointment time. For those who have not made an appointment, simply bring the materials to the site to apply for a replacement.
For those who have been married for a long time (more than ten years), the re applicant needs to go to the archives in the place where the registered residence registration is located first to retrieve the proof materials of their marriage relationship and print them out, and submit them to the original marriage registration office for re application together with the household registration book, ID card and three two inch recent bareheaded group photos.
