The clarity of diamonds is divided into six categories, from high to low: FL IF、VVS、VS、SI、I, At the same time, they can be further divided into sub levels such as 1, 2, and 3. Among them, FL grade is the highest grade, belonging to flawless diamonds, and no inclusions or surface defects can be seen under a ten fold magnifying glass. I3 is the lowest diamond clarity grade, with obvious defects and lower value.
Diamond clarity level
FL (flawless level): There are no inclusions inside or outside the diamond.
IF (flawless interior): The diamond has no internal flaws, but there may be a slight flaw on the surface that can be removed by re polishing.
VVS1, VVS2 (extremely slight inclusion level): There are very small flaws on the diamond pavilion or surface. The difference between VVS1 and VVS2 is that the latter has extremely small cotton like dots and small stubble.
VS1, VS2 (slight inclusion level): Diamonds have very small flaws. The difference between VS1 and VS2 is that the latter may have tiny cotton like dots or small stubble.
SI1, SI2 (micro inclusion level): Diamonds have small flaws that may be visible to the naked eye. SI1 grade diamonds typically have flaws that are not visible to the naked eye, while SI2 grade diamonds may be visible to the naked eye.
I1, I2, I3 (internal grade): Diamonds are prone to small flaws, visible to the naked eye, with some showing obvious cleavage and cracks.
