2. Dowry

In traditional society, there are two main reasons for giving dowries:
1. In order to improve the lives of their daughter and son-in-law, support their household expenses, or prepare for emergencies.
2. Try to strive for a position for your daughter in the groom's family. Having a dowry can demonstrate the strong economic strength of the bride's family, so ancient women attached great importance to the dowry they brought to the groom's family.
