Accompanying money, also known as personal money or gift money, is usually a gift money wrapped around an invitation to attend a banquet during a wedding, representing a blessing to the newlyweds. But gift money cannot be given casually, it needs to follow some rules.

1. Time should be timely
Accompanying money is usually given to the newlyweds before marriage or on the day of the wedding. It is not appropriate to give it after the wedding, because in the eyes of some elders, supplementing accompanying money is called "remarriage", implying that the newlyweds will get married again. And some regions believe that "Bu Li" is a "late Li", which sounds the same as "eat you" and is considered unlucky.
2. Numbers should be auspicious
Marriage is a great joy, but some things are still taboo, and of course, gift money should also follow this principle. The amount of money should avoid homophonic and unpleasant numbers such as "4". You can choose numbers such as "6" (Liu Zhong Da Shun), "8" (Congratulations on getting rich), and "9" (Long lasting), such as 666, 888, 999, etc. as gift money.
3. Based on the closeness of the relationship
The amount of gift money varies depending on the level of closeness with the newcomer. If you have a close relationship with the newlyweds, you will receive more gift money. For those with average relationships with newcomers, gift money should be given less.
