The marriage leave in Jiangsu is 13 days, including 3 days of statutory marriage leave and 10 days of extended marriage leave. According to Article 27 of the Population and Family Planning Regulations of Jiangsu Province, couples who have registered their marriage in accordance with the law can extend their marriage leave by ten days on the basis of enjoying the national prescribed marriage leave.
National regulations on marriage leave
When revising the Population and Family Planning Law, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress revised Article 25, "Citizens who marry late and have children late may receive rewards or other welfare benefits for extended marriage leave and maternity leave", to read: "Couples who have children in accordance with laws and regulations may receive rewards or other welfare benefits for extended maternity leave."
Specific regulations:
1. Those who get married at the legal age of marriage (20 years old for females and 22 years old for males) are entitled to 3 days of marriage leave.
2. If both the man and the woman are not working in the same place at the time of marriage, additional travel leave may be granted depending on the distance traveled.
3. Marriage during family visit leave (to visit parents) will not be granted additional leave.
4. Marriage leave includes public holidays and statutory holidays.
5. Remarried individuals are entitled to statutory marriage leave.
6. Salary during marriage leave: During marriage leave and travel leave, salary will be paid as usual.
