Pure silver with a silver content of not less than 92.5% is called pure silver. A silver content of not less than 99% is called pure silver, so pure silver is included in pure silver. However, pure silver and pure silver have differences in marking, color, and texture.
1. Different component labels
After making jewelry from pure silver, it will be marked with: Ag9999, Ag999, Ag990, S999, S990, S925, etc.
The mark of pure silver is generally: S990、S999。
2. Different colors
Pure silver usually contains a certain amount of alloy, so its luster is better and its antioxidant capacity is stronger, making it less prone to oxidation and blackening.
The silver content of pure silver is relatively high. Due to the unstable chemical properties of silver, its antioxidant capacity is weak. Compared with 925 pure silver, it is more prone to oxidation and blackening, with a darker color and poorer luster.
3. Texture
Pure silver is infused with alloys, resulting in a harder texture that can be set with various gemstones, diamonds, jade artifacts, and precious stones. The texture of pure silver is relatively soft, and it is generally not suitable for making jewelry with complex craftsmanship.
