According to Article 5 of Chapter 2 of China's Marriage Registration Regulations, mainland residents who apply for marriage registration shall bring their household registration book, ID card, and a signed declaration stating that they have no spouse and no direct blood relationship or collateral blood relationship within three generations with the other party. In addition, those who divorce need to carry the divorce certificate and other relevant certificates, and those who have collective household registration need to carry the permanent population registration card or registered residence certificate.

Conditions for obtaining a marriage certificate

1. Both parties shall jointly go to the civil affairs bureau where one party's registered residence is located to register the marriage.

2. Men must be at least 22 years old, and women must be at least 20 years old.

3. Non consanguineous marriage.

4. There is no legal prohibition on marriage or illness.

5. Both parties are currently unmarried, divorced, or widowed.

6. Both parties voluntarily marry.

7. Bring the household registration books and ID cards of both parties, a signed statement stating that the individual has no spouse and has no direct blood relationship or collateral blood relationship within three generations with the other party, and three recent 2-inch half body bareheaded photos of both parties (which can be taken on-site) to the Civil Affairs Bureau for processing.
