Getting divorced before obtaining a marriage certificate will not indicate a second marriage. The marriage certificate is an identity document issued by the civil affairs authority to prove the marital status. There is no difference between the marriage certificate for remarriage and the marriage certificate for first marriage. The remarriage situation will only be retained in the marriage registration file, and the marriage certificate will not indicate words unrelated to proving the validity of the marriage, such as "second marriage" or "third marriage". However, if both parties' household registers move together after remarriage, the registered residence department of the police station will change the marital status on the household register of the remarried into remarriage.
What information does a marriage certificate contain
1. The surface of the cover is printed with the words of the People's Republic of China, the national emblem, and the marriage certificate;
2. The first front page of the main text is printed with the words "The marriage application complies with the provisions of the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China, is registered, and this certificate is issued", in addition to the information of the registration authority and marriage registrar;
3. The first reverse side is printed with the holder, registration date, marriage certificate number, remarks, and a recent photo of the two people;
4. On the front of the second sheet are the information, names, gender, nationality, date of birth and ID number number of both parties;
5. The second reverse side is printed with marriage laws and regulations;
6. The leather tail is printed with a number.
