Internationally, moissanite grades are usually classified according to the 4C principle, which means that a carat weight of 1 carat equals 200 milligrams; Clarity is divided into six levels: FL, IF, VVS, VS, SI, and I, with SI-VVS levels commonly seen in the market; Colors from D E、F、LLN; Cutting is divided into good, good, and average.
Mossan Diamond 4C Level Table
1. Weight (Caratage)
Diamonds are generally measured in carats (CT), which represents weight. 1 carat=0.2 grams=100 cents. Diamonds under 1 carat can also be measured in "cents", for example, a 0.5 carat diamond is equivalent to a 50 cent diamond. In addition, assuming the other three C conditions remain unchanged, the larger the weight of the diamond, the more valuable it is, and the rarer the quantity, with prices increasing exponentially beyond 1 carat.
2. Color (Color)
Let's not consider colored diamonds for now, just white diamonds. D color is the best (colorless), arranged in alphabetical order according to the English alphabet, and Z color is the worst color. There are a total of 23 levels, with diamonds becoming more yellow as they move forward. But this kind of yellow is different from yellow diamonds. The yellow color of yellow diamonds is bright, while the yellow brightness and saturation of white diamonds are not enough, making the diamond appear gray.
3. Clarity
The clarity of diamonds is a natural result of diamonds, which crystallize in the magma of the Earth's mantle and undergo geological changes over billions of years. They bear various natural imprints, and the color, size, and distribution of these imprints have varying degrees of impact on the value of diamonds.
Diamonds often have flaws on their surface or inside, such as bubbles, cracks, feather patterns, etc. The cleanliness level can be classified into FL in detail from high to low, IF,VVS1,VVS2,VS1,VS2,SI1,SI2, I1,I2,I3。
4. Cut (CUT)
Cutting is definitely the most important indicator of diamonds! Not one of them! Only when a diamond is cut to the appropriate proportions can light refract back from the top, forming sparkling colors. The cutting level of GIA is divided into: Perfect Excellent (EX); Excellent Very Good (VG); Good (GD); General Fair; Poor; There are a total of 5 levels.
