Every diamond is composed of three basic parts: crown, waist, and bottom. The PROPORTION of a diamond refers to the ratio of the diameter of each part of the diamond relative to its waist and the main cutting angle. The correctness of the cutting ratio determines the degree of reflection and refraction of light by diamonds, as well as whether diamonds "ignite", and is therefore one of the important parameters for evaluating diamonds.
2. Polishing and symmetry determine the color of fire
The polishing and symmetry of diamonds are two important aspects in the cutting process. The polishing grade describes the smoothness of the diamond surface, while the symmetry grade refers to the arrangement of the diamond's various facets. Poor polishing quality directly affects the optical properties of diamonds. On uneven surfaces, diffuse reflection of light occurs, causing the surface of diamond facets to be dull and colorless, emitting cloudy or relatively dim light. The deviation of symmetry causes the incident light or the light present in the diamond itself to not move along the designed path.
