Different diamond cutting grades
1. Ideal Cut (EXCELLENT):
This cut grade of diamond is extremely rare, accounting for only 3% of all diamonds. This cut can reflect all the light entering the diamond, making the diamond appear almost perfectly bright.
2. Very Good Cut:
About 15% of diamonds can achieve this level of cut, which can reflect a light similar to that of standard grade cuts.
3. Good Cut:
About 25% of diamonds reach this cutting level, which reflects most of the light entering the interior of the diamond.
4. General Cutting (FAIR):
A diamond cut with a roughness of 35% is still a high-quality diamond, but the light reflected by a general cut is not as good as that of a G-grade cut.
5. Poor Cut (POOR):
This includes all diamonds that do not meet the general cutting standards, and the cuts of these diamonds are either deep and narrow or shallow and wide, making it easy for light to escape from the edges or bottom. Therefore, diamonds of this cutting level are basically devoid of luster.
