Diamond clarity si is a minor flaw level. Si grade refers to the clear and visible flaws in diamonds observed under a 10x magnifying glass. The si level is divided into si1 and si2. si1 is the small defect level 1, which refers to the easy observation of obvious defects under 10x magnification conditions. Si2 is a minor defect level 2, which refers to several obvious defects that are easily observed under 10x magnification conditions.
1、 Diamond clarity level si
SI belongs to the minor flaw level in diamond clarity, and within this level, diamonds of SI1 and SI2 can clearly contain inclusions under a 10x magnifying glass. After being set, Si's diamonds generally have no visible flaws, but their price is much lower than that of other minor flaw grades VVS and VS. Relatively speaking, the cost-effectiveness is also relatively high.
The clarity of SI1 is not visible to the naked eye, and the difference in clarity between SI1 and VS2 can be basically ignored.
The clarity of SI2 can be observed with the naked eye or from the crown, and defects can be seen, and the contents are usually black.
2、 Specific levels of diamond clarity
FL: Flawless level - refers to observing a diamond under a 10x magnifying glass, where there are no inclusions inside the diamond and no flaws on the outside.
IF : Internal flawless level - When observed by professionals under 10x magnification, there are no flaws inside, but there are very small flaws on the surface of the diamond.
VVS1 : Extremely Small Flaws Level 1- Professionals observe only a single tiny flaw under 10x magnification conditions.
VVS2: Extremely Minor Flaws Level 2- Professionals observe individual tiny flaws under 10x magnification conditions.
VS1: Minor flaws at level 1- visible under 10x magnification.
VS2: Minor flaws at level 2- visible under 10x magnification.
SI1: Minor flaws are easily observable under magnification of 1 to 10 times.
SI2: Small flaws at level 2- Several obvious flaws are easily observed under 10x magnification conditions.
